Staff Research Associate 3 - Lab Manager

Sophie Xiao earned her MS in Data Science from Northwestern University, IL and has extensive experience in translational cancer research and laboratory management at Northwestern University and Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. Before joining the Crooks Lab, she managed laboratory operations supporting pediatric brain tumor research, including patient-derived xenograft models, regulatory compliance, and collaborative research initiatives. In the Crooks Lab, she oversees laboratory operations, procurement, biosafety, equipment management, and research administration while supporting studies of thymic development and cell therapy. Sophie is passionate about improving research efficiency through strong laboratory operations and applying data science to biomedical research. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, photography, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with her cat, Niuniu.
